A Wigan community gathered in its holocaust memorial garden to remember famous diarist Anne Frank on what would have been her 97th birthday

School pupils and politicians were among those gathered for a Wigan ceremony remembering the brave and famous schoolgirl diarist Anne Frank who died at the hands of the Nazis in the Second World War.
